PROMOTION STRATEGY

Social Media Strategy

 

Social media is an essential component of marketing and we will have a strong focus on social media promotion. We will be using the hashtag #DJsOfMelbourne and #DOM as it is short, catchy and not currently in use by anyone else. We plan to make use of two major social media platforms: Facebook and Instagram.

On our Facebook page we will aim to build a loyal following who will watch our documentary when it comes out.

 

We will use Instagram to create a recognisable visual brand.

On Instagram we will be posting behind-the-scenes images and short teaser clips of interviews and footage. As Instagram is a visual platform, we will be focusing on aesthetic rather than snappy captions. On Facebook we will be posting longer clips and using captions to promote our project. On Facebook we will also post short profiles of our DJ interview subjects. If our subjects use social media (which is likely) then they can reach fans of the club scene by sharing our posts.

Social media posts should generally be short and sharp, otherwise people will just scroll past. Using demographic and statistics information we will schedule posts for the optimum times on each network.  We aim to post three times a day on each network: morning, afternoon and night.

We believe that by making use of three different platforms we will reach a wider audience and successfully promote our digital story.
