SYNOPSIS
The digital story for DJs OF MELBOURNE is a series of short interview clips that are now live on our Facebook and Instagram! You can find links in the site menu.
Drawing from the Melbourne Rave Scene and its history as a safe space for women, the queer community and other vulnerable groups - we aim to document the thoughts of current artists and draw out commentary about the current scene, where it is heading and what it means to be a Melbourne DJ in 2018.

Many of these artists struggle to balance a regular working life with their night time / creative work. They are at their varying stages of their careers and through we this we capture different perspectives.

The documentary aims to inspire current artists, wherever they may be on their journey - as well as to educate the general populace about the benefits of Rave Culture and how it has filled a void in terms of providing a safe space for people on the fringe.
It is of course about the art, the music, the way it makes you feel and ultimately the life surrounding this culture. It is a look into a community that is often regarded with disdain because of drugs.

Through interviews with DJs, samples of their music and footage from prominent Melbourne clubs, this series of clips will paint a picture of the current scene and the artists who populate it.
